Joy of Eating

If you have ever struggled with dieting, you are not alone. There is an old saying, “we are what we eat” which suggests that our food choices can affect our health, energy levels, mood and even behaviour. Yet it can be a struggle to find the balance between healthy eating and the pleasure of a treat. Today’s notion of dieting can be complex and confusing but, my experience to date with whole foods, plant-based eating has come the closest to striking this balance. The term “whole” describes foods that are minimally processed and it is a return to rich flavors and natural health. Simply put, it means you can have your cake and eat it!

Love of Colour

Vibrant colours can be uplifting.  Fruits and vegetables come in a rainbow of colours and perhaps it is no surprise that each of these colours are indicative of various nutrients.  Not only do they look appealing on a plate but by eating a diversity of these colourful foods, the body can obtain a range of vitamins, minerals, antioxidants and phytochemicals that it needs to heal and thrive.

Thirst for Knowledge

Knowledge is empowering. It assists us in making informed decisions, including healthy eating. With all the conflicting messages, it can be hard to know which path to follow when it comes to food choices.  On my journey, I have discovered a number of sources with information on many aspects of whole foods, plant-based eating.  These include an array of accessible and tasty recipes.  Seriously, plants have never tasted so good!
